Police Urge Public to Avoid Area Amid “Critical Incident” in Thornton, Illinois
THORNTON, Ill. — On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, residents of Thornton’s Bonnie Court neighborhood were urged to remain inside and steer clear of the area as police responded to what was officially deemed a “critical incident.” Authorities confirmed that the situation began with a stolen vehicle pursuit, and emergency vehicles descended on the scene just before 3:45 p.m.
According to officials, the suspect had fled the stolen vehicle and sought refuge in a nearby home.
