DNA testing has confirmed with 99% certainty that Oklahoma Man Dustin Walker, the stepfather of an 11-year-old girl, is the father of her newborn baby, according to the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office.
The girl gave birth over the weekend without medical care or support. She lived with Walker and her mother, Cherie Walker, both of whom are now in custody on child neglect charges and face additional counts pending the final paternity results, expected in two weeks. Each is held on a $100,000 bond.
The child and her siblings have been removed from the home amid reports of unsanitary conditions, including no running water for years and pets causing messes, as described by neighbor Cheryl Adkins. Adkins, who repeatedly contacted authorities, expressed outrage: “They robbed her of her childhood.”
The girl’s grandmother, identified only as Michelle, defended the family, insisting they were unaware of the pregnancy and that the girl claimed a 12-year-old boy was responsible.
“They’ve made my daughter and my son-in-law a monster,” Michelle said. “They are not. They love those children.”
The DA’s office announced the DNA findings on August 25, sparking community concern over the case
