Following President Joe Biden’s unexpected cancer diagnosis, President Donald Trump made hints that he wanted to see the former president’s physician looked into.
On Monday, the Oval Office questioned Trump about his response to Biden’s prognosis and whether he intended to call his predecessor.
Trump reacted by describing the news as “very sad,” but he then went on to speculate that there may have been a cover-up, as some conservatives have alleged.
“I’m surprised that it wasn’t, you know, the public wasn’t notified a long time ago because to get to stage nine, that’s a long time,” Trump said.
He claimed to have aced his own physical and mentioned taking a cognitive test, but then he implied that there was a problem with Biden’s White House physician.

“I think that if you look, it’s the same doctor that said that Joe was cognitively fine. There was nothing wrong with him,” Trump said. “Maybe it was the same doctor, and somebody is not telling the facts.”
He said that while he felt “badly” about it, “I think people should try and find out what happened,” the president added.
The former president was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, and it has spread to his bones, according to a statement released by Biden’s post-presidential office on Sunday.
The Gleason score is used to rate the aggressiveness of prostate malignancies.
With a Gleason score of 9, the 82-year-old former commander-in-chief had one of the highest levels of aggression.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” Biden’s office said. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”
