Harry and Meghan change both their children’s names

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, after stepping down from royal duties, were asked by Queen Elizabeth not to use the “Sussex Royal” name. Initially, they used “Sussex Royals” on their Instagram and website, but after their son Archie was born, they switched to “Archewell” for their website and production company.

Following King Charles’ coronation, the couple decided to officially use the surname Sussex for their children, Archie and Lili, despite their previous names being Mountbatten-Windsor. This came after both children were granted royal titles as Prince and Princess, following Queen Elizabeth’s passing.

Recently, Meghan corrected Mindy Kaling for referring to her as Meghan Markle, saying, “I’m Sussex now” and explaining how meaningful it was to share a family name with her children.

The name change has drawn criticism, with some accusing the couple of seeking attention while distancing themselves from the royal family.
