❓ Do Earwigs Bite?

Technically, earwigs don’t bite with their mouths, but they can use their pincers (forceps) to pinch your skin if they feel threatened or trapped.

These pinches are usually not painful and do not break the skin.
In rare cases, a mild scratch or tiny red mark may appear.
They do not carry venom and do not transmit diseases.
👉 So if an earwig “bites” you, it’s not dangerous. Just clean the area with soap and water. No medical attention is usually needed.
