‘Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head’ brings back so many memories!

The Ed Sullivan Show’ welcomed mega-star B.J. Thomas to sing his hit song ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head.’ The uplifting lyrics are about overcoming troubles, and the happy beat is a crowd-pleaser.
Dancers jump around in colorful clothes in front of a backdrop with green trees everywhere. B.J. stands in the middle of the stage, looking around and walking. When he sings, the dancers put their umbrellas up, and thunder rumbles.

B.J. sings the lyrics, ‘Raindrops keep falling on my head. But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red. Crying’s not for me. ‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining because I’m free. Nothing’s worrying me.’
B.J. sways while the dancers twirl behind him. In the last verse, a rain cloud flies over him, and he gets wet as water falls from it. He smiles and chuckles as he gets soaked along with the crowd.
B.J. finishes the song and walks off the stage, and the cloud follows him. The fantastic tune hit number 1 on the U.S., Canada, and Norway charts and became the first number 1 hit of the 1970s.
The song won the Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’ because it was featured in the 1969 film ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.’ Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote the song, and Bacharach went on to win ‘Best Original Score.’

B.J. was known for pop and Christian hits in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. His most popular songs include, ‘Hooked on a Feeling,’ ‘(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song,’ and ‘Don’t Worry Baby.’
