Former President Donald Trump made a shocking revelation earlier this week, stating that Melania Trump, his wife, has been deeply affected by the recent assassination attempt on his life. During an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump shared that Melania had witnessed the attack unfold live and is now finding it difficult to discuss the traumatic event.

Trump expressed his gratitude for Melania’s concern, saying, “She was watching live. She can’t really even talk about it, which is OK. That means she likes me. She loves me.” He went on to describe Melania’s immediate reaction when he was shot, saying, “When I went down, she thought the worst had happened because I went down and grabbed my ear and my hand was loaded up with blood.”

The incident took place when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump. However, the Secret Service swiftly engaged Crooks and neutralized the threat. Unfortunately, a rally attendee lost their life, and two others were injured in the shooting. Thankfully, the injured individuals have since been discharged from the hospital.

In the aftermath of the assassination attempt, the Secret Service has faced criticism from both sides of the political spectrum. Questions have been raised about the agency’s failure to secure the roof of the building from which Crooks launched his attack. Furthermore, there have been concerns about the Secret Service losing track of Crooks’s whereabouts despite prior warnings.

Trump voiced his disappointment with the Secret Service’s handling of the situation, stating, “There should have been communication with the local police, which there wasn’t. So that’s a bad thing, and they were seeing this guy – it was a very disturbed person, and they were seeing him around.”

Despite the recommendations of the Secret Service, Trump remains determined to continue holding rallies in outdoor venues. He sees the symbolism and importance of such events. In fact, he plans to hold another rally, this time in Butler.

In response to the shooting incident, Ronald Rowe has taken on the role of acting Secret Service Director, succeeding Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned after facing intense questioning during a House hearing. The hearing aimed to address the specific communication failures that led to the shooting. The FBI has also released new details about their investigation into the incident, revealing the gunman’s online searches related to mass shootings, power plants, improvised explosive devices, and the May assassination attempt on the Slovakian prime minister.

The attempted assassination has undoubtedly had a profound impact on Melania Trump, leaving her unable to discuss the incident. As we extend our thoughts and support to the Trump family during this challenging time, let us hope for healing and unity moving forward.
