Utah CEO And Teen Daughter Killed In Tragic Accident

A devastating accident in Ogden Canyon, Utah, has shocked and saddened the community. Richard David Hendrickson, the CEO and president of Lifetime Products, and his 16-year-old daughter Sally, lost their lives in a horrific accident involving a bulldozer.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 6, when a tow truck carrying a mini bulldozer collided with their GMC pickup. The accident unfolded as both vehicles negotiated a right-hand curve on Highway 39. Tragically, the bulldozer became dislodged from the tow truck and crashed onto the Hendrickson family’s vehicle. Richard, 57, and Sally were both inside the truck at the time.

The father and daughter were declared dead at the scene, and two other adult passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Colleagues and friends have expressed shock and grief over the loss of Richard, remembering him as a visionary leader and a beloved figure in the company and the community.

Richard’s incredible journey from being a welder to becoming the CEO and president of Lifetime Products is a testament to his extraordinary talents and abilities. His loss is deeply felt by his colleagues and friends, including Barry Mower, the founder of Lifetime Products, who called Richard one of his most trusted and cherished friends.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox has also extended his condolences, remembering Richard as a friend and exceptional leader. The tragic accident has raised discussions about safety on Highway 39. A petition has emerged, advocating for restrictions on the types of vehicles permitted on this narrow, two-lane passageway.

The petition highlights the risks posed by larger vehicles navigating the hazardous route through Ogden Canyon. With over 1,700 signatures so far, the petition calls for measures to enhance safety and prevent future tragedies on Highway 39.

Let’s stand together to support the safety of our loved ones and residents of Weber County. Show your support by signing the petition and help make daily commuting in our beautiful canyon much safer.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hendrickson family and all those impacted by this heartbreaking accident.
