For 40 years, teaching wasn’t just a job — it was a calling. Even while serving on the national stage, she continued grading papers, leading lessons, and showing up for her community college students with the same dedication she brought on day one. Her decision to retire came after her final class at Northern Virginia Community College, a place she often described as her second home.
