King Charles health update leaves us all in tears

King Charles has faced one of, if not the most, difficult years of his life. It was disclosed in early February that he had an undetermined form of cancer, therefore he stepped down from his royal duties until late April to take treatment and heal. At the time of writing, King Charles seemed to be back on track. However, his wife, Queen Camilla, is reported to be having a constant battle with him to keep him from returning and working too hard, too fast.

The king and queen will soon go on their first major overseas journey, a visit of Australia and Samoa in October, provided he does not suffer any substantial health setbacks. King Charles has been constant in disclosing – albeit small – information about his health, but recently, things have been fairly quiet. However, on Wednesday, Charles finally broke his quiet with another emotional message.”

The King expresses gratitude to his medical team for their prompt intervention, made possible by his recent hospital operation. “He remains completely positive about his treatment and hopes to resume full public duty as soon as possible,” according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. King Charles has cancer. “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.” Charles’ decision to publicize his cancer diagnosis could have saved lives. According to the Associated Press, Cancer Research UK saw a 33% spike in website visitors as people sought information on cancer signs and symptoms. “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the many messages of support and well wishes I have received in recent days,” Charles stated in a statement issued a few days after the first update on his health.

“As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.””It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organisations which support cancer patients and their families across the UK and wider world,” claimed Charles
