Murrells Inlet, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) – Tickets are now on sale for Brookgreen Gardens’ annual holiday light display, Nights of a Thousand Candles, which draws visitors from across the country. Voted the best Christmas light display in the state by Travel + Leisure, the event features thousands of hand-lit candles and millions of twinkling lights draped among Brookgreen’s botanical gardens’ stunning landscapes and sculptures. A nightly tree lighting ceremony kicks off the event with live music performances, festive libations, holiday-themed exhibits, and much more on select nights between Nov. 25 – Dec. 31, 2023.

“Nights of a Thousand Candles is a treasured holiday tradition for visitors to marvel at the illuminated botanical garden, savor the sounds of festive music, and celebrate the holidays with friends and family,” says Page Kiniry, President and CEO of Brookgreen Gardens. “Visitors return year after year to ring in the joy of the holiday season, as the exhibit has something new to offer each year. This event will sell out, so we encourage everyone to get their tickets now to not miss out on this exquisite holiday light display.”

Visitors can attend the Nights of a Thousand Candles Preview Benefit on Friday, Nov. 24, from 6–9 p.m. for an intimate evening providing an exclusive first look at the award-winning light display and the opportunity to donate to an excellent cause. A limited number of tickets are available for $150 each, and all proceeds from tickets purchased will benefit Brookgreen’s Campaign for the Next Generation, a $25 million capital campaign to expand the National Historic Landmark’s offerings for the future.
