My Husband Thought I Was Asleep and Confessed a Secret That Shattered Me

Last night, my husband and I had a fight. I had trouble falling asleep, so I just lay there with my eyes shut. At some point, he came into the room to grab something. He stopped near the bed, leaned in close, and quietly said, “I wish we’d never married.”

My heart broke. The next morning, I asked him if he really meant it. He looked at me, confused, and said, “You must’ve been dreaming. I never said that.” Now I don’t know if I can believe him. Was it just my imagination, or is something deeper going on?

What should I do?
