The White House has called for an investigation into whether the escalator at the United Nations carrying Donald Trump was stopped on purpose to humiliate the president.
Footage showed the U.S. president and first lady Melania Trump getting on the moving stairway at the UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday, before it shuddered to a stop.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News there would be “accountability” if they found that the UN and staffers had purposefully tried to trip up the president and first lady.
