He Accidentally Found A Car At The Bottom Of The River And Called The Police. When They Arrived, The Police Were Horrified And Shocked.

In central Russia, the remains of a young couple who disappeared nearly ten years ago have been found in the Volga River.

In December 2005, 25-year-old Ilya Zhirnov and his 22-year-old girlfriend Kira Cherkasova went missing.

Their skeletal remains were located inside a vehicle submerged in the Volga River in the Chuvash Republic, over a decade after they went missing in the city of Cheboksary.

Authorities managed to identify the couple thanks to car documentation that had remained intact for over ten years underwater.

The last time Mr. Zhirnov was seen with Miss Cherkasova was in December 2005 when he borrowed his father’s car to pick her up from work.

To this day, the families have been left in the dark regarding the fate of the young couple. The police investigated their disappearance but ultimately had to close the case due to insufficient evidence.

While exploring the waters near a local beach, a diving enthusiast—whose identity has not been disclosed—discovered the couple’s car submerged in the river.

The following day, after reporting his discovery to the police, they successfully retrieved the vehicle from the river.

Authorities believe that the couple may have tragically lost their lives in an accident caused by icy roads near the river.

The findings of the ongoing police investigation will be released to the public in due course.
