11 People Were Stabbed at Walmart — But One Man with a Gun Stopped the Massacre

Michigan — July 27, 2025: What began as a typical shopping day at a busy Walmart quickly descended into chaos, fear, and bloodshed — until one man took control.

Authorities say 11 people were stabbed during a violent spree at a Walmart store in Michigan. The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, began attacking shoppers and employees seemingly at random.

Panic erupted as customers scrambled for safety. But amidst the terror, one man didn’t run.

His name is Derrick Perry — and police say his actions likely saved many more lives.

Derrick, a licensed concealed carry holder, drew his firearm and approached the suspect without hesitation. Eyewitnesses say he gave clear verbal commands, keeping the suspect at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived and took the attacker into custody.

No shots were fired. No further injuries were reported after Derrick intervened.

“He didn’t hesitate. He didn’t panic. He just acted,” said one witness, describing Derrick’s bravery. “That man’s a hero.”
Emergency responders treated multiple victims on-site before transporting others to nearby hospitals. While some remain in critical condition, officials say the number of casualties could have been far worse.

Local law enforcement praised Perry’s courage, stating that his swift action “almost certainly prevented further tragedy.”

This incident has reignited national conversation around self-defense, gun rights, and what happens when ordinary citizens are the first line of defense.

Derrick Perry didn’t wake up looking to be a hero — but that’s exactly what he became.
