In Manitoba, Canada, tragedy struck on Thursday as a catastrophic accident claimed the lives of at least 15 individuals. A bus carrying senior passengers collided with a truck at a crossroads near Carberry, approximately 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg. The bus was transporting a group of guests to a local casino.

Deputy Police Officer Rob Hill, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) commander in Manitoba, confirmed the devastating toll.

“At least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision,” he stated during a press briefing.

The crash has been described as one of the deadliest traffic incidents in Manitoba’s history.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and survivors of the collision were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic and harrowing, with emergency personnel working tirelessly to rescue and attend to those affected.

The RCMP has requested that anyone with information or dashcam footage related to the accident come forward to assist in the investigation.

Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson expressed her condolences to the families of the victims. “This is a heartbreaking day for Manitoba.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted by this unimaginable tragedy,” she said.

The collision has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with local organizations and individuals offering support to the grieving families. A memorial is being planned in Carberry to honor the lives lost in the tragic accident.
