Mass Shooting At North Carolina House Party Leaves 1 Dead, 11 Injured

A tragic shooting at a home party in Hickory, North Carolina, left one person dead and eleven injured early Sunday, June 1.

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded around 12:45 AM to Walnut Acres Drive in the Mountain View neighborhood. Authorities confirmed twelve victims—one deceased, one in critical condition, and several still hospitalized.

The incident occurred during a pool party with around 100 attendees, including minors. Gunfire, described by witnesses as mostly outside and random, spread across multiple areas of the property.


Multiple weapons were involved, and investigators are working to identify them. No arrests have been made, and the motive remains unknown. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
