UPS Driver Brought To Tears After Learning Why Cars Were Lined Up The Street Check comments for full story πŸ‘‡

The COVID-19 pandemic affected everyone in one way or another. While we hope those challenging times are behind us, we can never forget how devastating the past few years were for so many. Many businesses were forced to shut down, leading to widespread job losses, and some even ended up on the streets.

As we all applauded doctors and healthcare workers for their efforts in fighting the virus, residents of a Virginia neighborhood took the time to show gratitude to someone holding another essential role during the pandemic: the UPS driver. These drivers worked tirelessly to ensure deliveries were made on time while everyone stayed home to stay safe.

The USPS, FedEx, and UPS workers were crucial in keeping America’s economy running, but their efforts often went unnoticed. Anthony Gaskin, a UPS driver, was on his regular route when he saw something unusual: a line of cars stretching along the road. He had no idea what was going on until he saw two children holding signs reading, “Hallsley loves you, Anthony.” As he got closer, he saw the rest of the neighborhood waving and cheering. It was then that he realized the entire community had come together just to thank him.

The residents of Hallsley felt that Anthony deserved recognition for everything he had done during the pandemic. Patty Friedman later wrote in an email to WTVR, “Even though his truck doesn’t have sirens and his uniform doesn’t offer added fire protection, Anthony Gaskins is considered a hero in the Hallsley neighborhood. Throughout COVID, Anthony kept working, delivering packages—sometimes over 180 times—ensuring we stayed connected and safe.”

Patty also shared, “I wanted to thank him personally for helping me feel welcome when I moved in during the pandemic. It was a terribly lonely time, and Anthony was always the highlight of my day.”
