An eight-year-old girl has been struck down with an “intestinal parasite” after an animal “petting session” at a family farm. Alba Dobbinson is the youngest of at least 28 people to fall sick after a visit to the Cowbridge Farm Shop at Marlborough Grange Farm in Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, on April 17.
Mum Vici Dobbinson said Alba had been vomiting and having diarrhoea after the visit to feed the lambs. She has been unable to attend school following the illness. Vici said: “She can’t even go to school, spend time with her friends or enjoy the weather. It’s not like a 48-hour bug, it can potentially go on for up to a month.”
