At least 15 people tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident in Manitoba, Canada, on Thursday.

The incident involved a bus carrying elderly passengers that collided with a truck at an intersection near Carberry, approximately 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.

The passengers aboard the bus were headed to a casino in Carberry when the collision occurred. Rob Hill,

Deputy Police Officer and commander of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba, confirmed the scale of the tragedy, stating, “At least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”

In addition to those who lost their lives, ten others were injured and are currently receiving medical care in the hospital.

The drivers of both vehicles survived the crash, although authorities have yet to determine or release information regarding who may have been at fault.

Images from the accident scene depicted a grim aftermath, with damaged wheelchair seats and walking frames

strewn near tarpaulins that covered the bodies of the victims, adding to the heartbreak of the situation.

In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau extended his condolences, sharing that his thoughts are with the injured and the families of those who lost their loved ones.

Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson also expressed her deep sympathy for all those affected by the horrific event.
