His striking almond-shaped eyes and shimmering white hair made him stand out, and at first, many believed he was simply a blond baby. However, it was soon discovered that Redd had albinism, a rare genetic condition that results in a lack of pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes.
As the family explored their genetic history, Patricia recalled her 85-year-old grandmother, who had lived on a Native American reservation and had the same platinum-blonde hair.
