New York helicopter crash victims identified as tech boss, his wife, and their 3 children

A tragic helicopter crash in New York claimed six lives, including Siemens executive Agustín Escobar, his wife Merce Camprubí Montal, and their three children, aged 4, 5, and 11. The family had just arrived from Barcelona and were taking a sightseeing tour when their helicopter, operated by New York Helicopters, crashed into the Hudson River just 15 minutes after takeoff.

Witnesses described seeing the aircraft break apart mid-air before spiraling into the water near Pier 40. NYPD and FDNY divers recovered all six victims, but sadly none survived.

Escobar, a respected leader at Siemens, was praised for his calm demeanor and dedication to his family. The company, the public, and his colleagues are mourning this devastating loss.

Investigators are still determining the cause, though the helicopter appeared to be low on fuel. The crash has left many shaken, and our hearts go out to the victims’ loved ones.

Each morning, as the sun rises, a wild elephant named Raja takes his post along a quiet forest road — calm, towering, and ready to collect his “tax.” He stops passing vehicles not with aggression, but with quiet patience. Drivers roll down their windows, offering bananas or sugarcane, which Raja accepts gently before stepping aside to let them pass. Over the years, he’s become a beloved legend — the “tax collector” of the wild. Videos of his polite toll-taking have gone viral, showing a rare harmony between humans and nature. But conservationists warn: feeding wild elephants, even gentle ones like Raja, can create dependence and danger. “The best way to love him,” one official said, “is to keep him wild.” Still, for those who’ve met Raja, the memory lingers — the soft brush of his trunk, the calm in his eyes, and the quiet reminder that true coexistence is built on respect, not fear. 👇 Full story and video in the comments.
