MY MIL RUINED THE FLOWERBED THAT MY DAUGHTER PLANTED WITH HER OWN HANDS — SO I MADE HER PAY IN A WAY SHE NEVER EXPECTED

My 12-year-old daughter, Amy, is obsessed with her flowerbed. She spent months tending to it—planting, weeding, watering, talking to them like they were her children —it was her pride and joy. But my MIL, Gloria, has always been… difficult. From the day I married her son, she made her disapproval of me and Amy crystal clear with comments like, “You don’t need a woman with baggage” or “Why bother buying gifts for a kid who isn’t yours?”

Still, I tried to keep the peace.

When my husband Stephen, Amy, and I planned a weekend trip, Gloria agreed to watch our dog while we were away. But when we came home, I almost passed out.

Amy’s flowerbed was GONE. No flowers, no plants—just a bunch of hideous, tacky garden gnomes everywhere instead of flowers.

“Gloria! What on earth have you done? It’s Amy’s flowerbed and you perfectly know this!” I called out.

She smiled, like she won the battle. “Well, flowers only bloom in summer, and I thought the garden needed decorations year-round. Aren’t the gnomes cute?”

I was livid. Amy’s hard work—ruined. But instead of losing my cool, I played along with a plan already in my head of how to teach her a LESSON.

“Oh, Gloria, you’re right! The gnomes are lovely. How much do we owe you?”

She grinned and said, “Let’s call it $500.”

My jaw nearly hit the floor. $500 for gnomes? This was outrageous. But I didn’t let her see my anger. I smiled sweetly and said, “Okay, I’ll pay you tomorrow. How about you come to our family dinner at 6, and we can settle everything there?”

Little did she know that a “surprise” was coming. ⬇️
