Passenger posts video inside Delta plane moments after crash

On February 17, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The Bombardier CRJ-900 had departed from Minneapolis–Saint Paul with 76 passengers and four crew members.

At 2:15 p.m. local time, the aircraft veered off course upon touchdown, flipped upside down, and skidded along the snowy runway. Emergency crews responded quickly as thick smoke billowed from the wreckage. Miraculously, all 80 people on board survived, though 18 were injured—three critically.

Toronto Pearson’s CEO, Deborah Flint, expressed relief that there were no fatalities and praised the swift actions of responders. Delta Air Lines confirmed its full cooperation with investigators.

Preliminary theories suggest adverse weather may have contributed to the crash, as heavy snowfall had made landings difficult. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada and U.S. authorities launched an investigation.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, passengers and crew credited emergency procedures and quick responses for preventing a greater tragedy. The incident raised renewed concerns about aviation safety, particularly in winter conditions.
