After the crash of a passenger plane in Kazakhstan, which was traveling from Baku to Grozny with 72 people on board, information about the cause of the accident has emerged. According to Azerbaijani media, the plane collided with a flock of birds.
Later, it was reported that the plane had been diverted to the airport in Makhachkala due to thick fog, but the accident occurred just three kilometers from Aktau Airport.
According to initial reports, the number of survivors is more than 10. The first injured passengers have been admitted to the hospital.
Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Aykhan Suleymanli, stated that for now, “they can’t say anything.”
“Our staff is there, and I am on my way. We can’t say anything for sure. We don’t know anything at the moment,” he said.
