Trump Team Brings Receipts: Highlights 50+ Times Dems, Media Used Extreme Rhetoric About Trump

Following the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in a mere nine weeks, Trump’s team compiled and released a list of dozens of times Democrats and their allies in the media used extreme rhetoric about Trump, including calling Trump a “threat to Democracy” and urging for the former president to be “eliminated.”

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, allegedly attempted to kill Trump with an AK-47-style rifle with a scope at Trump’s Palm Beach golf club on Sunday. Just two months ago, a would-be assassin tried to kill Trump during a political rally in Butler, PA. That time, the former president barely escaped death or serious injury when he turned his head a split second before he was shot in the ear. A Trump supporter at the rally, Corey Comperatore, was tragically killed in the attack.

In a campaign email sent to supporters, Trump’s team said the would-be assassin on Sunday “was egged on by the rhetoric and lies that have flowed from Kamala Harris, Democrats, and their Fake News allies for years.”

“Democrats used increasingly incendiary rhetoric against President Trump in the days, weeks, and months leading up to the two assassination attempts,” the email added, before citing more than 50 instances of such rhetoric.

Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, for example, has repeatedly called Trump a “threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms.”

President Joe Biden said Trump needs to be put “in a bullseye,” called Trump an “existential threat,” and referred to “MAGA Republicans” as extremists and a threat to the “very foundations of our republic.”

In the wake of Sunday’s attempt on Trump’s life, the media blamed Trump, the email highlights.

NBC’s Lester Holt, for example, blamed Trump and his VP pick, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), for the attempted assassination by citing their supposed “increasingly fierce rhetoric on the campaign trail

In an opinion column published by the Cincinnati Enquirer on Monday — mere hours after the second attack on Trump’s life — it’s argued that Trump “brings a lot of this stuff on himself.”

View the complete list from the Trump team, below:

  • Kamala Harris — repeatedly: “Trump is a threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms.”
  • Kamala Harris: “It’s on us to recognize the threat [Trump] poses.”
  • Kamala Harris: “Does one of us have to come out alive? Ha ha ha ha!”
  • Joe Biden: “It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”
  • Joe Biden: “I mean this from the bottom of my heart: Trump is a threat to this nation.”
  • Joe Biden: “There is one existential threat: it’s Donald Trump.”
