MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW SHAMED ME FOR WEARING MAKEUP AT 70.

I’m 70 and love wearing makeup. It makes me feel confident and beautiful. Yesterday, I was getting ready for a family dinner, and my daughter-in-law saw me putting on makeup. She arrogantly said, “Oh, you look pathetic trying to cover up your wrinkles. At your age, you should stop pretending to be something you’re not.”

I was taken aback and hurt by her harsh comment. My husband thinks I should just ignore her and keep doing what makes me happy, but I can’t help but feel self-conscious now.

Should I listen to my daughter-in-law and stop wearing makeup, or continue doing what makes me feel good? Has anyone else experienced something similar?
