Jordan Announces Update On Hunter Biden Special Counsel Testifying

The House Judiciary Committee is investigating allegations of politicization in the Hunter Biden investigation by having federal prosecutors appear for transcribed interviews behind closed doors.

Attorney for the Department of Justice’s Tax Division Stuart Goldberg is scheduled to sit for his interview on Wednesday, and Fox News has learned that U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Martin Estrada will sit for a transcribed interview on Tuesday.

After years of allegations of politicization and misconduct at Justice Department agencies during the investigation into the president’s son, the committee has requested testimony from DOJ officials, MSN reported.

Ohio Republican and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has been working with the Justice Department for months to secure testimony from federal prosecutors involved in the Biden investigation.

Biden’s transcribed interview with the government’s special counsel, David Weiss, has been moved to Monday, November 7th, and will take place behind closed doors.
In July, the DOJ made Weiss available to testify before Congress. A Justice Department insider informed Fox News that they would prefer to have Weiss testify in front of the public.

To oversee the Biden investigation and any related issues that have arisen or may arise, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Weiss in August.
Since 2018, Weiss, the U.S. attorney for Delaware, has been in charge of the Biden probe. A special prosecutor was appointed to look into allegations of political interference in the long-running investigation into the president’s son, which led to his appointment.

In his first act as special counsel, Weiss filed charges against Biden for making false statements when purchasing a firearm, making false statements in relation to information that a federal firearms licensed dealer was required to keep, and for having a firearm in his possession while abusing or addicted to a controlled substance.

In a hearing earlier this month, the president’s son pleaded not guilty to all charges. According to Weiss, the probe into the president’s son is still active.

Jordan also presented alleged evidence linking President Joe Biden to his son, who, according to his attorney George Mesires, served on the board of Ukrainian energy corporation Burisma Holdings from 2014 to 2019.

“Burisma, I think, captures it all. Hunter Biden gets put on the board and gets paid a lot of money. Fact No. 2: He wasn’t qualified to be on the board. Fact No. 3: The Burisma executives asked him, ‘Can you help us with the pressure we are facing?’ Fact No. 4: Joe Biden gets [Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin] fired—leveraging American tax dollars to accomplish that,” he continued.

“And then what does the [Attorney General Merrick] Garland Justice Department do?” Jordan asked. “They try to sweep it under the rug, so much so that they allowed the statute of limitations to lapse for the most serious felony tax concerns Hunter Biden had in 2014 and 2015. They let it lapse because those were the years that dealt with the Burisma income,” he noted further.

Hunter Biden, who was charged as a result of Special Counsel David Weiss’s multi-year investigation, entered a not-guilty plea in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
Speaking on House Republicans providing leadership, Jordan said: “The American people right now, Maria, I think they are so thirsty for leadership. And I don’t think they’re seeing it from the White House. I don’t think they’re getting it from the Senate. House Republicans need to unite and show the country that we’re fighting for them. Think about what they see every day: crime in the streets, 10,000 illegals coming across the border every single day, the price of food, and what it costs to put gas in their car.

“I mean, they are hungry for leadership. We need to come together and show the American people we’re fighting for the things they care about that will make a difference for our great country,” Jordan continued.
